AGNUS CASTUS PENTARKAN  [WSI]

INTRODUCTION

Sensitiveness and sadness are problems by themselves. In many ladies, these are complicated by weaknesses, resulting lack of sexual desire, changing mood, suppression of menses, painful scanty menses and irregularity of periods and flow. Health and life style indirectly controls the higher centers responsible for activation or inhibition of sexual hormones. The body has two major control systems, which allow specialised tissues to function in an integrated way – the nervous system and the endocrine system. Organs, taking part in regulation of menstrual cycle are hypothalamus, hypophysis, and ovaries. Irregulatory of periods could be also due to organic changes in the uterus (inflammation, IUP, endometriosis etc.).

Agnus Castus Pentarkan  [WSI] contains four individual components, which complement each other in their effects in menstruation disturbances. Agnus Castus Pentarkan [WSI] has a regulating effect on the hormonal functions of the female sexual organs and normalises menstruation as well as the complaints associated with the premenstrual syndrome.

Composition

Each tablet of 250 mg contains

Pulsatilla nigricans 3x 25 mg

Rosmarinus officinalis 2x 25 mg

Apis mellifica 3x 25 mg

Agnus castus 1x 125 mg

Excipients QS to make 250 mg

Proven indications of the individual ingredients in the sphere of claimed action:

Pulsatilla nigricans: It is indicated for amenorrhoea, dysmenorrhoea, leucorrhoea generally acrid and creamy, suppressed menses due to nervous debility or irregularity of periods or flow in oversensitive ladies. Used for urge to urinate, burning during micturation sometimes with spasmodic pain in the bladder. Pulsatilla helps specially in continuous changes of the period, in rhythm, intensity and complaints, amongst others in weakening and delay of the period. Non appearing menstruations with cold feet as well as cramps in the uterus before and during the period with a feeling of downward pressure also respond well.

Rosmarinus officinalis: It covers early menses with violent pain (dysmenorrhoea) followed by uterine haemorrhage, heaviness in head with feeling of drowsiness with complaints of weak memory, icy coldness of lower extremities followed by heat but thirst is lacking. Heavy pains in the abdomen, with bleeding of the uterus, pain in the breasts as well as fainting with cold extremities, which can hardly be felt, respond well to Rosmarinus officinalis. It also reduces vertigo, headache, the sensation of heaviness of the head and a dazed state.

Apis mellifica: Dysmenorrhoea with pain in ovaries, oedema of labia, soreness, suppressed menses, specially in young girls, metrorrhagia with stringing, feeling tightness, bearing down with tenderness over abdomen and uterine regions are indications for this drug. Apis mellifica has proven itself in the absence or delay of the monthly period (amenorrhoea), in weak or rare periods with normal duration (hypo or oligomenorrhoea) as well as in a prolongation of the period (menorrhagia).

Apis mellifica specially helps in the amenorrhoea of young girls with nervous symptoms, as well as in disturbances of the period with interruptions and menstruations prolonged up to 10 days. The remedy prevents pains in the abdomen during the period and eliminates the sensation of pulling and the sore feeling in the ovaries.

Agnus castus: It has distinct action on sexual sphere, ladies have lack of desire for sex, relaxed genitals with or without leucorrhoea, scanty menses and sterility. In majority of cases palpitation, sadness and nervous depression are present. Agnus castus is also used for absence or delay of the monthly period (amenorrhoea), in weak or rare periods with normal duration. Agnus castus is recommended in a sensation of the breasts being tense and swollen, with diffuse or locally limited pains, which occurs before the menstruation (premenstrual syndrom, PMS).

Dosage: Unless otherwise prescribed by the physician, 1-2 tablets three times daily for prolonged periods. If complaints are not relieved, consult a specialist.

Side effects: No side effects of Agnus Castus Pentarkan [WSI] are known.

Contra-indications: Hypersensitivity to bee poison.
